Vancouver Central Library excavation began in January 1993 and the building officially opened on May 26, 1995. Replaced the old Library in 1995 at Burrard and Robson, now known as Robson Central. The Library uses 7 floors with levels 8 and 9 leased to the Provincial government for 20 years; ultimately for library expansion.
